The Capetonian WOE Thread
Re: The Capetonian WOE Thread
Someone else can try, I need to pick the blackcurrants before the birds eat them.
Re: The Capetonian WOE Thread
Enough currants today, +29 earlier.
Would I be prejudicing the answer by thinking of Hants?
Never been to that house.
Don't want to google it.

Not Hants. Just put this on the new page.

It has a French name.

Re: The Capetonian WOE Thread
Is it Le Manoir Aux Quat'Saisons?
Never stayed there but have driven past once or twice.

Re: The Capetonian WOE Thread
You have it. Down the road from us in the UK. Friends were invited there by her boss as a Christmas treat. They kept on having to ask for more bread and called in at a fish and chip shop on the way home.

Re: The Capetonian WOE Thread
I thought it could be near Brize or Benson and the french name for a house was a major help.
Will put up a challenge in a while.

The same line of latitude passes through Finland.

Stornaway maybe?
Life may not be the party you hoped for, but while you're here, you may as well dance.
Re: The Capetonian WOE Thread
Not Stornaway.
Without looking it up, I think Stornaway is South of Finland.
Go west, the ship is about 90 miles from the sea.

Good try, and we did stop there on our way back to Helsinki.
Further west and North.

Re: The Capetonian WOE Thread
Don't think the Faroe Islands are big enough for a 90 mile inlet, 9 miles might be the limit.
I will hazard a guess at somewhere in Canada.

Well that really only leave Iceland I guess......
I don't think it is Reykjavik, but a lot has changed since I was there in October 1986, (yes a significant event)......

Been there a fair number of times. Got out of the aircrew mess pretty quick once when we heard that the Eskimo strippers were about to perform.
