Morning all. Getting used to the trains thundering by every fifteen minutes. No aircraft last night except a police chopper wandering round Feltham way. Arm stiff where the French travel vaccination was put in yesterday.

Morning all.
Normal hot day . 24c at the mo going only one way...up. Yesterday was most unpleasant with very high humidity.
Highest temperature of the year, so far, has been guessed at for this coming Saturday.

Afternoon folks. Nice day, pullover removed. Twice monthly town day. Not too bad. Usually dodging of people trying to crash into us. Interrogated the CEO of the safari camp company yesterday he came over for a few beers. One of the couples he is interviewing for the management post we have know for years. Don't know his wife very well but he is a great guy. Think that we may have got him the job.

Mrs OF SO came home with a dressing-table-top mirror from John Lewis. It consists of the mirror, a base, a connecting tube and two small bolts. The instructions sternly caution that the assembly should only be undertaken by someone competent in DIY.

G'day,
SM is outside hosing down the terraces in the 30c direct sun.
I am inside in the A/C making Tomato Jam.
Most places seem to be staying open on Monday, another holiday.
The guess is 32c today 30c and 60% at present.
Saturday has a guess of 38 or 39c and depending on the guess observed a bit cloudy, that'll be nice.

Was that a vaccination against travelling in France or so you could travel safely in France?

The latter. The pox-and plague-ridden occupants of that land have no hesitation of breathing in your face, brushing against one, or shaking a sweaty palm, and with a current infection rate of three times England or Catalunia, travelling is a lottery.

Slacking here this afternoon, as the temperature soars outside, watching the Pink Panther, you know the first of the Pink Panther films with the ever debonair David Niven and Claudia Cardinale. I had forgotten how beautiful she was, although I would have been in my nappies when she starred in the 1963 film...
Good to see she is still alive and still an opinionated, liberal, and feisty lady...
Claudia Cardinale
Interesting factoid about the Pink Panther - Cardinale's voice in the film was dubbed by Gale Garnett, a Kiwi Canuck, who went uncredited.

Sold my town flat today, bought for wife's son to rent while a student and left fallow, odd guest and visiting relation, for 6 years, when he moved on.
Chap viewed it 30/7, offered 31/7, back and forth twice, agreed the price and did the paperwork, in his bank today.
Could have happened sooner but his bank couldn't get us in sooner.

Ah, Claudia Cardinale! The seductive scene where she was intoxicated, lay on a tiger skin and flirted with David Niven has been entrenced in my mind for more than 50 years! I didn't know her voice (so sexy in that scene) was dubbed....... Certainly the best of the Pink Panther films.

Barley-harvest around here can be late January to mid-February, or much later depending on the season's weather.
-2°C here at the moment, blue dome day. Expecting 9°C.
Brilliant moonlight last night.
On with the dance!

Re: The really boring and totally pointless snippets thread V
I have a horrible feeling that I'm going to miss out yet another full moon this year. Last night the 99% full moon was beautiful and very bright. When am I going to get a chance to entrance my neighbours with my full-throated wolf howl(which I think is quite impressive). Thick bloody cloud until after moon set. I'm beginning to think it's a conspiracy.
