Definitely possible - you mean Tu-141, by the way.
If it is intended for low altitude though, then the -141 isn't a very efficient design.
I think they would have copied something else, like the Tomahawk.

Yes, I wish the Russians would use sensible names like Lancaster, Stirling and Wellington, it would make life much simpler.
Have you read this almost forgotten entry from Wikipaedia?
There are other missile design options but it may be the Ukrainians think the high speed capability of this missile might be useful. Draw a 500 Km circle from somewhere random such as Nova Kakovka and see where the circumference falls, very interesting.

Apparently the Ukrainians have been playing with this firework for a while and no doubt US stickiness over ATACMS is influencing their thinking. This is great for the US because it allows them to wash their hands concerning long range missile strikes.About midnight on 10 March 2022, during the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine, a Tu-141 crashed in front of a student campus in Zagreb, Croatia, over 550 kilometres (340 mi) from Ukraine.[4][5] Before it crashed, it had flown over Romania and Hungary.[6] There were no casualties. The Ukrainian Air Force said that the drone did not belong to them.[7][8] The Russian Embassy in Zagreb stated that Russian forces had not had such drones in their arsenal since the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991.[9] The Croatian president, Zoran Milanović, said it was clear the drone came from the direction of Ukraine, entering Croatia after flying over Hungary.[10] On 15 March, an undisclosed source close to the MoD of Croatia was cited in the Croatian news magazine Nacional as saying that the investigation had concluded that the crashed drone belonged to the Armed Forces of Ukraine and carried a bomb that was meant for striking Russia's positions, but the drone had strayed off course and crashed after it ran out of fuel.[11]

Yes, mentioned it a couple of pages back, #2966.
That miss, as I commented elsewhere at the time, was probably a 180 error. If you pick a point south of Kyiv, then if it was aimed at Engels with a 180 error, it would end up where it did, at Zagreb. Obviously it wasn't GPS-equipped at the time, probably still using the original inertial guidance.

Anyone else mystified by the shopping mall fire in the Moscow suburbs?
Why did such a large area apparently catch fire in such a uniform manner? The first photos show the whole mall on fire intensely, no indication that the fire started in one area and spread from there, it's all burning.
What was the cause of the rapid series of four explosion that took place along one edge of the buildings? Four explosions, approximately equally spaced in time, taking place in sequence and fairly equally spaced in location seems to require some explanation. It is not as if the areas were not burning already, they were, so why the sudden massive explosions? I can't make a gas leak fit the picture.
On second thoughts I wonder whether the explosion sequence was caused by car parking areas blowing up in sequence.
One person dead, sure. The poor guy shown on top of the extension ladder in the first photos must have had an interesting time.

If you watch SAS Rogue Heros that might give a clue . Timed explosives then the other 4 daisy chained.

A welding accident, say the authorities. Not arson. Well, wouldn't be, would it.

The official explanation is that is was caused by some welding being done wrong.
Adjacent large gas storage cylinders are common in Canada, typically between 4 and 6 for a big box store.
They usually supply gas to cooking equipment, say to an instore kitchen, or franchised fast food outlet.
One going off from overheat from the fire would trigger the others in sequence.
Not saying either the official explanation, or mine for the cylinders, is what happened, but it's certainly feasible.
This one, however, may not be accidental
There are a lot of fires in Russia normally.
Careless assembly
Poor maintenance
Ignoring of safety regs
Insurance jobs
Not paying Mafia dues on time - "Nice supermarket you got there. Be a shame if it caught fire."
Annoying putin.

Re: Millions of us might be **** if we ignore the Russian-Ukraine war
No significant developments today.
The Russians are shuffling troops around.
They have started what ISW thinks are spoiling attacks in anticipation of Ukrainian assaults to come in the next few weeks.
I don't think much will happen for a week at the earliest, as both sides are waiting for the ground to freeze up hard.
A reminder that December 15th has been the earliest, historically, that successful advances have started in Ukraine.
Balancing recent weather against this, the 15th seems the earliest in the north, with at least a week later further south.
Both sides are expected to launch winter offensives.
The Russians seem set on Bakhmut.
The Ukes could go anywhere, and will probably launch a feint/pinning attack somewhere before the main assault comes in on another front.

The Russian fixation with Bakhmut could be their undoing.

Quite.
Andrew Roberts (I think) reckoned that the essential difference between Hitler and Stalin is that Stalin, eventually, started leaving the combat to his generals, and that this was the decisive factor on the Eastern Front..
putin, of course, doesn't even have a real serviceman as his Defence Minister.
putin has no idea what he's doing, no training it what he's trying to attempt, and no trust (as no gangster has) in anyone who says he knows better.

Re: Millions of us might be **** if we ignore the Russian-Ukraine war
Odessa may be without electricity for 2-3 months after the latest Russian strike - ouch!
The Ukrainians have launched a widespread artillery and missile attack against occupied Kherson Oblast (left bank), southern Zaporizhia, and Crimea.
Looks like a lot of precision stuff, on targets including airfields, accommodation blocks of occupiers, and HQs.
There have been multiple strikes earlier in the week in this area, but not on such a large scale.
Awaiting more details....

More on the "shopping mall fire", new angle.
Explosions obviously internal, not external, so not gas cylinders.
Would seem pointless to blow it up when the building was already completely ablaze.
Apparently it was a hardware store, not a supermarket.
I still think it was accidental explosions.

Re: Millions of us might be **** if we ignore the Russian-Ukraine war
One of tonight's strikes by the Ukrainians was in Melitopol.
A large building is completely ablaze.
I've just seen some rather gruesome video from the scene, apparently videoed by a responding fireman.
He appears to be approaching through a children's playground.
Others report the building was a school, a recreation centre, or a church.
He passes several moribund-looking victims, and bits of others, who are all young men of fighting age. They seem to be in a state of undress, likely sleeping when the strike hit.
It really does resemble the archetypal 'Scene from Hell'.
Looks like the Russian forces occupied a big building, which was then hit by something like HIMARS.
No victims other than young, fit men.
There appear to be at least two other strikes in the region on occupier-accommodation, all timed for when everyone would be in bed.
Of course, this also minimises the risk of injuring a civilian passer-by.
The Ukrainians have hit several other similar targets over the last few weeks.
I'm not sure if this is a deliberate policy, or that the Russians are getting better at hiding their ammo dumps, so the Ukes are routinely moving to troop concentrations as the next on the target list.
The Russian propaganda always states that they are civilian facilities, which of course they were, but now aren't.

Re: Millions of us might be **** if we ignore the Russian-Ukraine war
That won't include last night's strikes - looks like at least that in just the two strikes I saw video of.
Ukrainian blogger reporting 100+ casualties just from Melitopol, and that's before they start digging through the rubble.
The Melitopol strike is being reported by the Russians as a an attack on a holiday camp, with 2 dead and 10 wounded. Total horse-hoey.
Claims that a similar barracks strike in Crimea last night was made by a partisan group, which I think would be the largest target they have gone for yet.
Several Russian commentators are now saying their regime is living in a dream world, and the rubbish on RT would certainly provide evidence for that.
Many can't understand why Ukraine isn't simply hit with everything they've got. They don't realise that, in the case of missiles and ground troops, they've already done all they can.
I remain convinced that all Russian missile attacks are now dependent on new production.
I think there's a significant chance of internal problems increasing rapidly if the Ukes launch a successful offensive in the next couple of weeks, as I think they will.
The Russians are digging trenches on the beaches of Sevastopol - another ludicrous waste of time.

The rubbish tip they have captured in Bakmut should keep them happily occupied send trophies back home.
You should see our recycling centre. The Christmas display is about 50 yards long.
