Similar weather conditions here as well, so fence painting has been the order of the day, but I did manage to use our spa for the first time this year after spending most of yesterday cleaning and preparing it for use, chilli con carne preparation next on my list, roll on Friday, when I can go back to work for a bit of peace and quiet
When all else fails, read the instructions.

Took D#2 to the airport this morning.
Flight to Florida for a friend's high school graduation.
18 open seats and she was #2 on the stand-by list.
Got the last seat after someone was pulled off.

Depends on the soil moisture - if the ground is firm you need some strength in the weed stems.4mastacker wrote: ↑Wed May 24, 2023 4:06 pm
Memo to self: get the weeds when they are just showing through and don't let the buggahs grow so much.

I know that one. I see the little green cotyledons and think "if I ran the hoe through there a few times..."4mastacker wrote: ↑Wed May 24, 2023 4:06 pm...

Sun's up, a few high clouds and high haze, 6.4°C expecting 17°C.
I should have been able to see Jupiter and Mercury earlier but I think the neighbour's roof is in the way and it seems a bit extreme to have him lower it.
Bins out. The little morning rush-hour begins.

Morning all. Another sunny start to the day. Up to London to learn Dr Prostate's results and get a date for the dreaded biopsy.

Ibbie, Mrs OFSO likewise. Feels like something new in addition to worn out bones...she got up and put cold pads on.

A bright blue warm day, few clouds. Going for a pleasant hour's drive to Glen Clova in Angus, north of Kirriemuir, in particular we plan to go up the long single track dead end road to have lunch at the Glen Clova Hotel.

Re: The really boring and totally pointless snippets thread V
Woke to grey clag, so girded my loins, sat down and made my business VAT submission, and the skies became even greyer!
My better half is out this afternoon. All the ladies in the street have have promulgated a monthly male free get together at a local restaurant. Whatever can they find to talk about? I wave at my neighbours when I drive by, and give them a friendly grimace while thanking the good Lord that I don't have to talk to them, which I generally don't, having avoided this contingency for three straight years now. Surely a good neighbour is one that you don't have to talk to?
The weather improved a little later and I wandered down to Spillers News Agents to purchase this month's edition of Pilot magazine and noticed all the potholes in the High Street had been filled in. Hallelujah! A case of the council finally acknowledging our hard earned money that flows into their enormous coffers? No, not really, more a case of simply window dressing for the Ride London cycle race that will wend its way up the High Street this Sunday. Can't let Johnny foreigner see the shameful decrepitude of out infrastructure!. To add insult to injury I am locked in on Sunday between 05:00hrs and 17:00 hrs due to this confounded race. I suppose I could go and watch the race, but that would mean that I might have to talk to one or, worse, more of my neighbours! Hobson's choice, enough to make a man turn to drink.
Thank God for ops-normal!

so not much happening, the dread of the ITV (MOT) on a 19 year old car is all.

Many years ago, I remember getting my, then, "bidie in" to drop me off at the top of Glen Cova and some hours later pick me up from Loch Muick.
A very pleasant walk.
I think I would struggle to do it today!!

So long as you don't call it that to the locals, you'll be fine, Woody. (There is much protest taking place at the moment (most of it written, fortunately), regarding possible expansion plans for the airport. I used to walk along there regularly many years ago; there was nothing special about it, but the tree huggers seem to think there is, and have even invoked pictures of Paul McCartney playing there!)

Pass, that'll take it to 20 years old
Re: The really boring and totally pointless snippets thread V
Her flight arrived in the area to this:
KTPA 242047Z 02016G32KT 1/4SM R19R/0800V1400FT +TSRA FG BKN008 BKN018CB OVC025 22/21 A2985 RMK AO2 PK WND 02032/2045 LTG DSNT ALQDS CONS LTGICCCCG OHD AND ALQDS TS OHD AND ALQDS STNRY P0101 $
Diverted to Fort Myers (KRSW) and was scheduled to depart several hours later, bumped back further, then rescheduled to this morning.
Since she was non-rev and WX related no accomodation.
Her friend and friend's mother made the 140 mile drive to get her.
Time to spare, go by air.
More time yet, go by jet.

That sounds like a rhetorical question. I think "about" may be superfluous, too.OneHungLow wrote: ↑Thu May 25, 2023 9:07 amMy better half is out this afternoon. Tango 15 , I’m aware of the expansion plans and protests, but I can’t remember anyone calling LPL that particular name, everyday is a school day
