Today, lunch:
chicken drumsticks, well-dusted with powdered black pepper and paprika, and slow-baked;
pumpkin, cabbage, broccoli;
a bit of butter added to melt over all, just for nice.

A boughten late lunch: a Corn Fritter Stack consisting of a couple of corn fritters, a couple of slices of bacon, tomato, some sort of savoury condiment with a hint of something aromatic like fenugreek, and - what would that green stuff be? - a spinach leaf or two.

Collected two serves of flathead and a Greek salad from the local fish shop for dinner for two last night. Not cheap at $40, but turns out there was enough for lunch today as well. Cheaper than a pizza, and beautiful fish & salad.

Noticed chicken livers at the supermarket yesterday and bought 600g, which I divided into 4 packs to freeze.
Just lunched on chicken livers sautéed in butter with onion and mushrooms, a few flakes of Maldon salt, black pepper, a spot of Worcestershire sauce, plenty of chopped parsley.
And a fresh orange to follow.

Mrs Ex-Ascot is preparing a fish pie. Her usual ingredients of cod and smoked haddock are not available she is using kingclip from down south. Strictly an eel actual but will report back.

The kingclip fish pie was outstanding. Second portion today. Trouble is that we offered lunch to the people who recommended kingclip if it worked out OK.

Re: Wot's for Tea, Ma?
As the weather is a bit cooler my mind turns to soup recipes, and so yesterday made a large pot of pea and ham soup. Enjoyed a large bowl last night for
dinner, while eating I was thinking about what to do to use up the remainder of the soup, and lo and behold I thought that a trip to the local bakery for one
of their great meat pies would allow me to make a pie floater, a great OZ meal from back in my younger days of late-night pubs,so tonight that is what
it will be.

Pie floaters were a regular late-night meal when I lived in Adelaide.

Egg chips bacon and baked beans seem to habitual Sunday lunch now. Depends on availability of ingredients though. Have to run the genny for the dry frier. Solar will not take it.

RB and YP at the posh pub. Wife had lamb roulade provençale. With a Corona and G&T and coffees (one liquor), £75. Pricey. Still, maintaining a tradition of one Sunday Lunch per UK Visit.

Did you thank BA for the opportunity to indulge?
Also, can't you claim the meal as part of the delay reparations?

Remember, there are no pockets in shrouds.
Meanwhile, I have been surviving on freshly-cooked doughnuts bought at the local 'steam rally' - an annual event centred around steam traction engines - though dominated by classic agricultural tractors and classic vehicles (ranging from a penny-farthing cycle through to heavy transport road vehicles, including private cars) - I just cannot resist them - the vehicles or the doughnuts.
