You know you are getting old when...

#1 Post by OneHungLow » Thu Aug 24, 2023 7:08 pm

Your good friend accuses you of going senile when he mentions some bloke in your class in 1977, and you say you can't remember the dude, and apologise to your friend for your forgetfulness, and then remember that you didn't even go to the same school as the two aforementioned folks!

Any other offers on the signs of the yawing grave... ;)))

Catching myself referring to some trivial thing happening in the 1980s (or earlier) by the year, as if it really mattered, come on, it's over forty years ago :))

Recalling in detail something that happened 40 years ago, and not being easily able to remember what I had for lunch yesterday.

Of course I remember things I did 40,50,60 even 70 years ago, mainly because I do not get to do those things nowadays!

I can remember the faces of school friends, names etc., but don't remember someone I met three days ago if met out-of-context.... Or I talk to complete strangers thinking they are someone else. Like thinking a Spanish guy was Billy Beaumont. As for kissing Spanish Lady footballers....that turn out to be girls from the Russian brothel...

People besaring names in your address book that you can't remember.

Thinking today was Saturday and asking my wife if she wanted me to take her to the local Farmers Market - or should I go on my own ? ( which sometimes happens )

Standing up seems to be easier when accompanied by sound effects.

I heard somebody relate a memory of an amusing incident in their high-school days.

Only problem was, it was a story I'd previously told them about something that had happened in my school, not theirs.

Weird. :-o
