Clouds.

#1 Post by G-CPTN »

Yesterday, I was sat outside enjoying the environment.
There was a cloud layer that scudded due to the easterly wind (the usual prevailing wind is from the west).
These dark clouds contrasted against a much higher stationary background of white cloud, which didn't move during over an hour that I sat there.

I accept that there are different winds at various altitudes - so it is likely that there was no wind at high altitude, but it seemed to me to be a contrast (of altitudes and wind velocity).

I've looked at clouds from both sides now
From up and down and still somehow
It's cloud illusions I recall
I really don't know clouds at all

Inversions:
It was always frustrating during my decade as a ski bum to look out the window in the morning to see low claggy clouds and blow off skiing only to find out later that it was an inversion. Everyone raving about the skiing and coming back down sunburned.
On the other hand, skiing on such days was indeed spectacular.
