Manchester United have allowed David de Gea to train without a mask, after club doctors confirm there's no way he can catch anything.

Talk about doing it the hard way!

A new manager with 8 game to play. 4 at home, 4 away.

Looses all 4 home games, wins all 4 away ones!

Mind you with no crowds due to Covid, whats it matter?

At least we don't have play Sunderland next season.

Referees' boss Mike Riley will present his season's review of the video assistant referee system on Friday at a Premier League shareholders' meeting.

Riley, head of the Professional Game Match Officials Limited, will look at key match incidents and assess how the technology has been used in its first season in the English top flight.

More meaningful discussions about how VAR will operate next season will be left until August's annual general meeting, when the three promoted clubs from the Championship will be present.

Fifa took over direct responsibility of VAR from football rulemakers Ifab on 1 July and is expected to insist on greater consistency across more than 100 global leagues.

The move was seen as a way of bringing the Premier League into line with other competitions.

England's top flight had opted against checking for goalkeepers moving off their lines at penalties, and referees have tended not to use the pitchside monitors as often as in other leagues, because of a belief that doing so slows the game down.

There has been huge controversy around individual VAR decisions in the Premier League. Earlier this month, former Premier League referee Dermot Gallagher picked out key incidents in all three matches played on one day which, in his opinion, the match officials had got wrong.

They need to let things flow, allow each team captain a couple of challenges similar to other sports - if you're correct you get another one, if you're wrong you lose one. Extra time gives you another challenge to account for the extra half hour. They can do it on a timer - have a video referee who gets asked by the on-field ref for an opinion (and otherwise keeps quiet), if the video ref can't figure it out in a minute then it gets flagged as "ref's decision" so whatever the on-field ref thought is what stands, similar to how cricket seems to work.

The court should have told Maguire that they would not release him until they got the Elgin Marbles back. Judging by the comments I've read by Manure supporters, he wouldn't be missed. =))
He's got off though - for now. Pleaded not guilty after leaving the court - how does that work? No doubt a backhander to the Mykonos Police Federation, or somesuch, has been agreed. Remember how the (mainly) British plane spotters were treated in Crete, just for photographing and writing down the details, when they'd already been given permission?
