I see the gormless has adopted the gormless! =))
If by this comment you’re referring to the good Jeff Taylor, perhaps a better insult might be used. Whether or not you dislike his visage and the deadpan delivery, he always seems to have done some research into his utterances as evidenced by the quotations from various official documents. Some of these writings are actually produced by our friends in the EUSSR so they must be true, mustn’t they...?

The word ‘gormless’ implies that one is suffering a lack of ‘gorm’ and searching for definitions of this produced some interesting results of which here is a fine example of thread drift;

https://www.theguardian.com/notesandque ... 09,00.html

No apologies are offered for quoting this popular source.
I am endlessly amused by the ubiquity of Mr Jeff Taylor here. No real desire to insult as just gently mock him barking!

Thoroughly enjoyed the drift and no apology needed for the source from me at least! :p ;)))

The mad Krankie and that awful Ian Blackhead really are on the magic mushrooms this week!

I wonder what the words “Barnet Formula” and “tear up” mean to them? What’s left of the UK needs to save money.

And anyway, ‘Scottish Independence” within the EUSSR seems an oxymoron, or is that concept too difficult for the McTaliban?

Re:Clap for Nicola

#204 Post by om15 » Fri Jul 10, 2020 3:54 pm

It is planned to hold an adoration moment on the 50th birthday anniversary of the Dear Leader in Scotland, devotees of the First Minister are invited to stand outside their houses and clap. This depressing event is being staged in order to give the flagging fortunes of the self styled Queen of Scotland a boost presumably.

A Facebook post reads: "Our First Minister has done an exceptional job throughout what’s been a strange year so far, to say the least.

"We clapped for our fantastic NHS. We even clapped for Boris at some point (why, I’m not quite sure).

“Let’s give Nicola the ‘full regalia’ on her 50th birthday, Sunday 19th July at 8pm. Get the pipes and pans oot and cheer once more for oor Nicola!

"And let’s make sure Westminster hear us!"

However their enthusiasm is not shared by all of the community it seems, other comments posted are;-

One posted on Twitter: “Second worst country in the UK for handling of the Coronavirus. I’ll clap when she stands down...

Another said: “Clap for her not a bloody chance. The woman has blood on her hands.”

One simply said: “No chance.”

A Twitter user posted: “The only time I'll clap for that vile scheme goblin is the day she resigns.”

Another added: “Thousands more to throw up at the thought.”

One tweeted: “Anyone who stands outside to clap for this should have a good look at themselves.”

I've made a note in my appallingly barren social diary to drop ma kecks at the appointed hour and moon the bitch and make farting noises in the general direction of a great circle track to Bute House.

I'm beginning to detest the wee bitch on the same scale that I detest TB Liar and Herr Drumff.

I suppose the drive behind this new Scots Lives Matter movement feel that they need to commemorate the Dear Leader's half century with something spectacular. They can always go on to topple a few statues when they have finished clapping.

My son has just emailed this assessment to me;-
"Nicola Sturgeon is keeping everybody totally confused with her special 'Mc-lockdown', so we have a steady stream of visitors coming up from England without booking, only to be turned away by the Hotels who are only taking in essential workers. The shops are haphazardly opening again, but its all a bit of a mess."

Was this an attempted invasion by the dumbest of the English or had Scotland actually announced full opening of hotels?

I imagine it's an assumption that the Scots are unaware of what's going on.

Actually sounds like the English are unaware of what's going on - but no surprise there! Bet they all voted for Boris, too. :))

It does not take the intellect of the Clever Horse to understand
"Hotels, pubs, restaurants and visitor attractions in Scotland are preparing to open their doors again from next month.

The ailing sectors were given the “much-needed clarity” they sought after Rural Economy and Tourism Secretary Fergus Ewing set a target of July 15 for the lifting of restrictions."

Enough to get 365 seats in Parliament anyway. :))

I think the problem is that hotels in Scotland are open but only for people who live in Scotland.

I hope someone's pulling our Scottish legs with that suggestion that we should clap for a Politician?

Does anyone know of a carer who has caught the clap since the Thursday evening ritual was initiated?

I think we should be told... :))

At the moment the uncertainty about Brexit and the Covid situation is firing up Government criticism though out the UK, mainly fanned by the leftie anti Tory media and jumped on by Sturgeon and the Scots Lives Matter loonies in Scotland.
I believe that Brexit will have a happy outcome, particularly for the fishermen in Scotland, and that will calm things down.
Sturgeon is causing unease in Scotland, the hoteliers have estimated an 11 million loss in revenue by extending the opening of restaurants and hotels to the 15 July, questions are going to be asked both sides of the border when this pandemic is over.

The reported surge in support for Independence has led to a poll in England, published in the Express this week, the following question was asked,

"After shock warning, are you worried about the break-up of the UK?”
In response, 7,423 out of 9,330 said they were not worried about the potential break up of the UK.
A further 1,818 voted ‘yes’ while 89 were not sure.

Looks like there is greater support for Scottish Independence south of the border than there is in Scotland, why might that be do you think? Is it because the English find Wee Nicola the most objectionable politician in the United Kingdom for three hundred years and wish to be shot of her whining perhaps.
