Cute Pet Pictures

#1 Post by llondel »

OK, I think we should have a thread of cute pet pictures, so I'll start with this one. This is Faraday, our older puppy. She was about nine months old here.

They don't come cuter than that llondel.

What type of hound is that fine creature? Sorry, Faraday.

I assume that if you have other hounds they are called Hertz, Watt and Tesla! ;)))

Not exactly a pet, but a regular visitor, along with the rest of his family, to the workshop.

I see you've got the Hammer N4400 bandsaw Hydro. I've been interested in buying the same. May I ask how much it wrecked your wallet?

Kitty, taken about 6 weeks ago. Think she may outgrow her cat basket.

I would be very careful about this one.

My sister, who used to work for the BBC, was called in one day by her boss to say that the IT department had flagged as 'inappropriate' an email chain entitled 'pussy'.

I think it was about $2200 about 10-15 years ago, not sure what the current price is. Pretty happy with it, especially with the TCT blade on it for resawing. It might be worth keeping your eye out for a 2nd hand one - a lot of us old blokes are dieing and the wives are selling them for what they said they paid for them.

It's a baby magpie, Caco. The family spend most of their time in our front garden, but usually once a day they'll stick their heads into the workshop to see if there's any free tucker on offer.

Beau, my rescue dog after losing 12 kg. His previous owner had dementia, and used to forget that she'd fed him.

Ah a magenpie! As Spiro from Gerald Durrell's "My Familly and Other Animals" used to call them! :-bd

Er...you talking about your family Hydro or the mugwump's?

Might pop in meself to check if you've left any free grub around. The current rabbit diet my wife's put me on is killing me! :ymsigh:

Australian magpie. We are feeding a whole family! This year’s kids were introduced to us and, amongst other tasty morsels (including the grasshoppers and stick insects that feed in our courtyard) they are very partial to grated cheddar and roast chicken skin. They reward us with melodious calls (not so welcome at 5am) asking for their food!

A mugwump is Oz slang for a magpie mate. He had his mug on one side of the fence, and his wump on the other. Borrowed yonks ago from the Yanks. Ask anyone older than 50 in Toodyay. :)

We've been giving these guys snacks (mince with calcium powder) for generations. They'll wander into the workshop and wait till I see them, but they have a symbiotic relationship with Beau. If I don't notice them straight away, he'll come and let me know they're there, as he knows he'll get a snack too.
If I'm not in the workshop, they'll come onto the verandah and sing outside the window.

Caco
You're correct on Tesla, she's our senior dog. Our dogs are all Leonbergers, a non-drooling giant breed.

One of our naming criteria is that you should be able to shout it out at the dog park. Shouting "Hertz!" might cause people to ask where it hurts, and shouting "Watt!" might get people telling you exactly what.

The third one is still a science character, she's Kepler. The adjacent cat is Juno.

What can you mean? ;)))

Well demonstrated by the discourse in this scene from Fawlty Towers.

Now that's what I call efficient posting.

Two answers for the price of one, what!
