If one aircraft has a Red star on it, WW III has started !
If not, they are practising for it.

Sorry, haven't got any gen but isn't it good that on this site unlike TOP you don't get some bumptious prig immediately jumping down your throat saying 'if you need to ask then you don't need to know'. That happened to me some years ago when I asked on the Military Forum what an AWACS might be doing for over 3 hours in a racetrack pattern over my house at about FL300.
The helicopter pilots' mantra: If it hasn't gone wrong then it's just about to...

Charlie
Agree.
Agree.
Re: USAF activity over Grantham
I wasn’t asking for the plans for WW3 merely a question as to why Grantham? It’s certainly not a usual place for that sort of activity and it had Granthamites all abuzz - apparently. So maybe there might have been an airshow or Defence sales show or something.

The USAF were merely reminding the locals of what it was like here a few years ago when the UK had an air force to speak of.
Some of my neighbours made some disparaging comments about the noise so I asked them what, exactly, was their problem. No 1 grandson thought it was great watching the jets twist and turn.
Funny thing is, only one person seen the Vulcan, allegedly, do a barrel roll on a crystal clear day, yet the whole bloody town saw these F15s doing their thing when the place was covered in cloud. I just wish it happened more often.

Aha! The local press are onto it.
Careful. That rag broke the "news" about the Vulcan being rolled about three weeks after the alleged event. The BBC and the national scandal sheets only picked up on it after that.
The bloke that reported it seems to be the only one who did see it and yet there are plenty of folk who didn't see it.
Mrs 4ma seen the Vulcan that day as it passed overhead and she didn't see anything out of the ordinary - and before anyone says anything, she was stationed at Scampton in the closing days of the V-force so she knows what a Vulcan looks like.

I more often than not cross check things I read in the Media by "Googling"
because I just don't trust them.

When the Founders of my country asked the then United States to vote on an official language to be adopted by the fledgling country, the English language vote barely managed to win out over the German language vote. For whatever reason that was.

Indeed, the sound of freedom - but nobody is interested in the insurance policy until its needed.
