Re: Birthdays
It seems that it is Mrs Ex-Ascot's Birthday today. Many happies, Ma'am!
Not sure about the age mentioned next to the notification though. It is my understanding that Ladies never get older than 21.
Will raise a glass of Barossa Shiraz in your direction this evening>

Re: Birthdays
Hippy b'day to you Mrs Ex-A. May you have a great day. I trust EX-A has baked you a cake.
Oops, it was yesterday. Well I trust all the cake is now eaten.
My necessaries are embark'd: farewell. Adieu! I have too grieved a heart to take a tedious leave.
Re: Birthdays
A belated Happy birthday Mrs. Ex-A, I trust you had a drink to celebrate.

Sorry I missed your birthday Mrs Ex-A, it seems to have fallen during my recent sick leave.
I trust it was up to standard.

Re: Birthdays
Thanks for that, Mrs Ex-Ascot; Indeed, about half a bottle of a Barossa Shiraz was consumed with a generous portion of Roast Turkey mit kartoffel, pumkin und salad. As prepared by the Lady formerly known as Mrs Pinky, whom in a previous life was a highly successful Sheep Shearers Cook.
Anyone who knows anything about Aussie Sheep Shearers (and their associated Union, the AWU) would know just how touchy they were when it came to the food they were dished up!
But now I am half way through my first glass of a very nice Pinot Noir Bubbly of a 2014 Vintage!

Re: Birthdays
Happy Birthday ExSp33db1rd. There is something very satisfying about the number 88. I trust the Chinese connotations hold out for you!
-from WikipediaNumber 88 symbolizes fortune and good luck in Chinese culture, since the word 8 sounds similar to the word fā (發, which implies 發財, or wealth, in Mandarin or Cantonese). The number 8 is considered to be the luckiest number in Chinese culture, and prices in Chinese supermarkets often contain many 8s.
